So early Sunday morning we had a rash of break-ins to vehicles. The culprit and his car were caught on camera but I'll be damned if I can ID the car. Since this is from my phone I can only include one pic in the post; it's of the passenger side and it's the best. I will comment and include the others I have; one of the cars front and one of the rear as it's driving away.
Thanks for any help!
The car is definitely a 5th gen Mirage. Thank you!!

I do believe that's a Mitsubishi Mirage DE.

Edit, after seeing pics if the front, I agree it's a Mitsubishi

my first thought was this too

Looks like a aftermarket bumper with not 100% matching paint, or even maybe just primer.

This.

Definitely looks to be a late 3rd Gen or early 4th Gen Mirage.

First thing that came to mind is it's an eight gen Galant. The proportions look off, though.
EDIT: Yeah, you guys are right it looks more like a Lancer/Mirage.

Sure appears to be a 5th gen Mirage with damage to the driver's side front. Thanks to everyone who chimed in and helped!!

Is that from Wikipedia? That's a picture of my actual car. I took that shot in Pennsylvania. :)

Wow, yeah I did lift this from Wikipedia . Which also explains the file name of the photo.

Well now that I know fifth gen Mirage there are ways for me to search for who owns them in my area. And I have video of the suspect. So this is a huge help.

also notice how the front plate is askew a bit. Might help you if you see more than one

Your dates are off for here in the US. 5th gen Mirage started in '98.

Just to re-iterate what most others have said, it is a Mirage. Trust me, I have owned about 5 of that body style.

I went by Wikipedia. I'm surprised I instantly recognized it, what with it being a bland little shitbox.

Definitely a 1997-01 Mitsubishi Mirage sedan. Probably a 1997-00 DE or 2001 ES trim level based on the blackout doorhandles which were body color on uplevel LS versions.

Yeah, that is recognized in the Mirage community as the most famous Mirage in the world since it is the Wikipedia Mirage image.

It appears to me as though there is driver's side front end damage. Looks like part of the grill insert may be missing.
